CR Exclusive: Pelican developing third-party Wii-mote, Nunchuk

Posted by: dvbrevolution in 1. Wii News & Articles

I have info from a United States wholesaler that Pelican Accessories is developing a “Nerf-based” Wii-mote and Nunchuk. Yes you read it correctly, a NERF-based Wii-mote and Nunchuk. The following is the description for both of these products:

“A unique controller design that features a comfortable texture. Proprietary Nerf material forms into a resilient, long lasting controller that can take abuse!”

How much will they sell for? The price looks to be at $30 and $15 respectively.

Ooo, nerf material. That’s comfy. Got any pics of what they’ll look like? :3
    Also, I wouldn’t mind a nerf skin…

Pros of this would be that it is cheaper….the problem is that the contoller will probably not work as well as the Nintendo brand controller. Guess I will still have to pay $60 for a *working* controller.

I never trust 3rd party controllers. Like who else would it be, I’ll go with a Nintendo brand controller.

I’ll stick with the controllers that come right out of the box for a while, and when it comes to me wanting to get another one, I’ll go on the net to see how the ‘nerf’ ones performed.

you know, they should just release a nerf shell for the 1st party equipment.
it would be all profit and no overhead.

If there’s a significant difference in price, I’m deffinantly going with the 3rd party manufacturers for my extra controllers. I can use the wii-mote that comes with the system for myself and my friends can use all the 3rd party stuff.

Sounds cool. I’ll definetly look into it if it comes in different colours and is reliable.

im still (and always will be) awry of third party controllers and/or memory. they have never been reliable and usually less comfortable than the first party counterpart. id rather shell out an extra 20 for a controller that wont or has a lower probability to crap out on me while im playing my games.

This is an excellent product idea. I can see how helpful Nerf would be on a wii controller when it’s swung around. Especially for younger children who might throw it in frustration every so often.
