Nikkei Shimbun reports that a brand new Super Mario title is in development for the Wii for a late 2009 release. This is in attempt by Nintendo to increase sales of the console in Japan due to recent lagging sales of the system in the country.

What a horrible three-year anniversary. From the site being stolen at first to the site crashing constantly, currently the hosting company is working to move the site over to another server. I DEEPLY APOLOGIZE to everyone out there especially with the lack of updates and what has been going on! Once everything is set things will hopefully go back to normal!

The Sunday Times in the UK bashes WiiPosted by: dvbrevolution in 1. Wii News & ArticlesExcerpt: “Here’s the real reason not to like it, though: the games. Wii tennis, baseball and tenpin bowling appear to be the pursuits of choice, but what the hell sort of computer game are they? They’re rubbish…I want fantasy on a games console. I want to pick up a plasma rifle at a far-flung outpost of the universe and kick some serious ass…I want to take control of a class-2 energy shadow transporter and go up against the Covenant in my quest to destroy the Halo network while elite fighters rain down holy fire as I race for cover on a barren planet. And what have they got on the Wii? Duck-shooting.” “You want exercise? Okay, what you need to do is this. Take the Wii to an actual, real-life bowling alley. Line yourself up carefully, with the Wii gripped firmly in your hand. Now, when you’re comfy, run full pelt down the lane as fast as you can. Then, when you get to the pins, use them to smash up the Wii. And then take the bits to the park and throw them at a duck.”

Battle Rage, Metroid Prime, Arc Rise Fantasia and MadWorld VideosPosted by: dvbrevolution in 1. Wii News & ArticlesBattle Rage Metroid Prime Arc Rise Fantasia MadWorld
With Mario & Luigi RPG 3, Street Fighter IV and the release of Kidou Senshi Gundam V in Japan, not a single Wii title has made it to the Top 10 for the week of the 9th to the 15th of February 2009 (in sales). Not only was Street Fighter IV a big hit (taking No. 2 + No. 5 for PS3 and 360 respectively), Mario & Luigi RPG 3 conquered Japan with 193,000 units being sold. Hopefully E3 will shake the very foundations of Japanese gaming as Nintendo unveils its Playstation 2 killer package…perhaps in another dimension. Sorry Nintendo, fans just don’t believe you anymore. |
