In quick summary:
1. Capcom has no plans to bring Okami to the Wii
2. 25 weapons in Ghost Squad, thermal and night vision goggles
3. Ubisoft used Dr. Tom Cobb of McGill University for their word game, four cartoon coaches, 11 different exercises and a 15,000-word dictionary is included
4. Carnival Games boasts twenty games in one from skee-ball, a dunk tank, a shooting gallery and 15 more bonus games as well such as a fortuneteller and whack-a-mole, you earn tickets for every game you play to gain prizes and four players support
5. Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground will expand on the Nail the Trick gameplay which was introduced in Project 8 by adding Nail the Grab and Nail the Manual maneuvers to the mix, you can create and customize skate videos
6. Battalion Wars 2 will hit the Wii this September
7. Soul Calibur Legends development started in early 2006, the game wasn’t originally meant to be exclusive to the Wii, game is being developed by a dream team of developers from Tekken, Ace Combat and Soul Calibur series, the game isn’t just your ordinary “hack-n-slash” game where games usually wave the controller around without any sense of timing, game has an Egyptian ruin as part of the worlds included in the game, bosses will pretty much fill the entire screen…story: A 16th-century empire is on the brink of destruction and involves Siegfried with his gradual transformation into the “maleficent Nightmare”…the game picks up right after Soul Blade…game will support 480p, 16:9 and 60fps…the team wants to take advantage of the Wii hardware (graphically)
8. Tomb Raider Anniversary: Wii Remote aims Lara’s weapons in “real time”, nunchuk could be used for a quick dodge by flicking it in any direction or used as a grappling hook, game will include “Wii specific puzzles” that could only be done by the Wiimote, Crystal Dynamics is excited to work with Wii and the game gives them the experience to create a future original IP
9. Final Fantasy: The Crystal Bearers - The game takes place in the Chronicles world, which includes the four races from Crystal Chronicles…the game starts you off as a “mature hero”, meaning the hero is more complete unlike the usual Final Fantasy titles where the hero is younger and weaker (less experienced)…game is following the Final Fantasy tradition of being “very story-driven”, lots of cinematic events etc
10. Team Ninja’s Itagaki interview excerpt: “(Note: he wants to see Pikmin 3 on Wii…) I think it’s (Wii) a very interesting piece of hardware, and it’d be interesting for us to challenge that area as well. The Wii has kind of carved its own niche within the home console arena. It’s almost in an entire category by itself. I do think that it’s totally different from the DS, though…I think it would depend on how you make it (a hard-core action title on Wii). You would really have to design it for the strengths of the hardware. If you used the kind of control scheme that most developers are using right now for the Wii and tried to do a really hard-core action game, I think people would just throw up their hands and say “No, we can’t deal with that”. The Wii has its own reason for existence. If you don’t adapt what you’re doing to fit that, then there’s not much point in bringing an action game to the platform. (regarding possible Wii action game) I’m currently brain-training about that right now (laughs).”
11. Eiji Aonouma would love to make a “Wind Waker” for the Wii.
12. Geometry Wars for Wii offers the basic Retro Evolved game with a new 50-level galaxies game with new enemies, new multiplayer component will be in the game, game offers eight hours of gameplay

I don’t mind if they decided to make a sequel to the DS Wind Waker or a prequel to the GCN WW for that matter. To be honest, I enjoyed WW more than Twilight Princess. I don’t know if it was the graphical style or the simple story, but it was overall more fun. Don’t get me wrong, TP was a great Zelda experience but I was a little disappointed after finishing it. I know that people hated the end-less sea traveling, easy dungeons and boss fights, and the ridiculous tri-force hunting, but I really enjoyed it. Yeah I’m weird.
I’m really looking forward to Phantom Hourglass…

You’re not alone, Ry. I, too, was somewhat disappointed with TP. All the videos and trailers shown before the release of TP had me thinking there would be a less linear world, which there was, but to a lesser extent. I don’t know if u can relate to what I’m saying though.
Anywho, I love these types of updates. Please continue with them.

It was an overall solid issue, NP has been doing better with maintaing pleasing QA. But the Reviews section is still pretty lame.
The Soul Calibur and Tomb Raider articles definitely have me looking out for those.

I’ll give them the first three but I don’t see any interest in the latter three (Dewy once caught my eye, but as time went by, I started feeling “meh” about it).

Although WW was my first time playing a Zelda game (I’ve seen my younger brother play LttP), I must admit I had a lot more interest and momentum playing that game… than Ocarina of Time (that came with the preorder). I’ve stopped playing OoT for the last year or so and probably only made it half way. I guess I prefer more a direct continuation of the story than have an entire gaming experience comprised of long dungeon hunts. It’s what I liked about WW. It had you find three things to unlock to tower and the third orb wasn’t technically another dungeon. Personally, lots and lots of dungeons don’t necessarily make for a great Zelda game and I don’t see why people were disappointed with the lack of dungeons in WW, which were abundant enough.

1. Uh, what are they thinking? That game just SCREAMS DS or Revolution playability.
2. Meh
3. Well at least they can’t say they didn’t try.
4. Sounds like it could be good but seriously, STOP WITH THE MINIGAMES AND START WITH THE REAL GAMES!
5. Wanted to try downhill jam but never could get my hands on it, hopefully they do good with this one though.
6. I’m looking forward to it.
7. Seriously, just when I thought I couldn’t get any more excited about this game.
8. I only ever played one Tomb Raider game and I hated it with a passion.
9. More FF is always a good thing, more on Nintendo is even better.
10. Huh?
11. See #9 but with Zelda
12. This game looks like it could be either amazing or a total flop. Here’s hoping.
