Nintendo to be more Profitable than Sony?
Posted by: dvbrevolution in 1. Wii News & ArticlesWell it looks like Sony, a company that used to profit over a billion dollars a year has now cut down its expectations to a mere $676 Million. Nintendo for its fiscal year 2005 made a $808 Million dollar profit and it shouldn’t be much of an issue for Nintendo to recapture the same amount with the huge success of the Nintendo DS and the expectations for the Wii. Sony, an electronics company has been through alot of financial trouble for the past few years especially with the recent battery recall; the worst recall in history.

I think it is funny that everyone always assumes that Nintendo will be the next to leave the console race, yet they are consistently profitable. They always make money, and have huge reserves.
Sony, on the other hand, is facing an uphill battle. They have more than just the PS3 to worry about right now, and investors are not going to be happy if Sony screws up the PS3 launch on top of everything else. And just imagine if Blu-Ray turns out to be a loser in the format wars.
I know it may seem extreme, but the Playstation could be a Sony killer if they don’t get their act together. On top of the battery recalls and all their other woes, Sony can’t afford to lose a bunch of money from its gaming division. If things keep going downhill for Sony, I think the Playstation brand would be the first to go. If thy eye offend thee, pluck it out.
I’m not saying Sony is going to close their doors, but dang. Nintendo knows how to make lots of money, and Sony is forgetting.
