Decoder says Wii will launch on October 2nd

Posted by: dvbrevolution in 1. Wii News & Articles

With the latest press release challenging fans to decode the press release to reveal the Wii’s launch date or neglect it as a scam, a decoder mentions the following:

The fourth quarter begins on October 1. Now look at the list. At least one game is released every Monday in the fourth quarter except for the following dates: October 2, November 20 and November 27. November 27 is after Black Friday, so it’s out. November 20 is after the launch of the PS3, so that’s out too. That leaves us with October 2. The Wii will launch on October 2.

Could October 2nd be the release date of the Wii? It is known that Nintendo has release the N64, GCN, DS/Lite systems on a Sunday but is Nintendo changing that tradition? Hopefully Nintendo will make an announcement at next month’s German gaming convention. (thanks wesley)

UPDATE: Here is a crazy theory behind this date I’ve read a few times before on message boards but it basically goes like this: If you take the Wii and ‘convert’ it to Roman Numerals in such a way that it looks like “VVII” you get 552 which means that since two V’s don’t go together you take the sum which becomes 10 (the month) and you leave the 2 on it’s own (the date) which concludes that the Wii launch date is indeed October 2nd.

UPDATE: Gamestop once reported that they had information regarding titles that had a release date on October 2nd.

UPDATE: There are loads of theories out there that do point out to October 2nd. Another one comes from the IGN boards from the user hillz4ever who believes that the word ‘pore’ was used on purpose (a word that is unusual in a sentance) as it is a clue to the date of ‘Yom Kippur’ which is on the 2nd of October.

all we can do is hope this is true, doesn’t seem likely that theyll release the wii on a monday and not a sunday, i think October 1st, first day of the 4th quarter is possible….either way, lets hope its soon

October 2nd is MY birthday too!!! Man, I wouldn’t be overly upset or anything if it was after the second, but that would just be too awesome for words if it launched that Monday!

One more crappy release date rumor and I’m going to support another site. It’s beyond annoying.

Haha Falafelkid is good at doing these kinda things. He’s very in depth. Haha but if he doesn’t do it who will go that in depth. Anyways my site has the 3 so far that have been posted on the release date rumors from the press release so ease for checking it out there.
